	Kanki Izumikawa was taught by Seiko Higa at his Itoman Dojo and later opened a dojo in Kawasaki, Japan . Amongst others Izumikawa had a very talented student in Sosui Ichikawa who dedicated his whole life to the study of Goju Ryu. In October 1950, Izumikawa Kanki took part in a karate exhibition, together with other masters Ryusho Sakagamie (Itosukai), Hidetaka Nishiyama (NKK), Yasuhito Konichi (Ryobukai), H. Kenjo (Kenshukai), and another of his students Shikan Akamine. Izumikawa was also a high ranking Shihan and adviser in Ryukyu Kobudo.
